Meeting called to order @ 5:30pm
Attendance:

AGENDA and DISCUSSION
1)Joe: WILL WRITE LANDOWNERS’ LETTERS (to be included in landowner packets) by Thurs. noon. Give to Nancy for printing.
2) Cookie: Expresses concern about anti pipeline signs being stolen.
Suggests using wildlife cam to identify thieves.( no resolution) HOWDY WILL CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE. Sheriff’s office has been notified. Howdy has filed a report with the state police.
3)Roseanna: WILL PLACE ADS FOR JAN. 8 MEETING IN WATCHMAN AND VA. LEADER.
Groups agrees that costs and exposure are best served by putting large ad in papers every other week with classified advertisements alternate weeks.
Large ads to be in Dec. 28 and Jan. 5.
BETH WILL PAY TO HAVE CLASSIFIED ADS. ROSEANNA WILL HAVE INVOICES SENT TO BETH’S PO BOX.
JIM, HOWDY AND SUSIE WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE AND ERECT NO PIPELINE FRACK GAS signs with donated materials.
Scott Womack will facilitate student involvement in Jan. 8 meeting. ROSEANNA WILL F. U. WITH SCOTT.
4) Nancy: a mailing to all county households to notify of Jan 8 meeting, using ” every door direct mail” must be done by PO. Both sides could be printed. Cost over 1,000$.
To do mailing of only postcards to residents in Western portion of county would cost about 650.00$
Cost considered to be prohibitive. Notification will be done by Ads in papers and flyers. HOWDY WILL CREATE A JMHS RADIO ANNOUNCEMT.
Landowner packets are almost complete. An effort is ongoing to determine ” who knows whom” for outreach purposes.
Nancy briefly reviewed contents of landowner packets, which will have 10 inclusions, both text and reproduced photos, maps.
Cost of printing, folders, envelopes, mailings expected to be in 800.00$ range.
NANCY WILL GET COMPLETED PACKETS MAILED BY THURS. Any groups’ financial donation to the project will be appreciated.
The No Survey signs with WV law included in text can be laminated for 1.74/ea or possibly less in greater quantity.
JOE AND BETH WILL EACH CONTACT 5 LANDOWNERS (opposed), READ THEM THE LANDOWNER LETTERS AND SEEK PERMISSION TO USE THEIR SIGNATURES ON LANDOWNERS LETTERS.
5) Howdy: raised issue of available equipment at JMHS for meeting.( sound equip., etc)
STEPHEN WILL CONTACT SCHOOL FOR CLARIFICATION.
Howdy notes apparent lack of info and possible discrepancies about taxing pipeline/equipment. Taxation is on equipment , not on pipeline.
HOWDY WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW UP WITH TAXATION SITUATION.
6) Jon: expresses deep concern about sign thefts.
UTC has approached town of Union with request for increased water allocation to facilitate expansion. John notes that the sewage treatment plant can, at best, accommodate perhaps 10 more households. ( per Carolyn Sparks). Expansion of UTC will likely max out the sewage treatment plant and possibly require that an additional water source be developed.
It is felt that the coalition group needs to be involved with the town’s response to UTC.
Group to focus on this issue in upcoming meeting.
7) Kelly: WILL BE AVAILABLE TO OUTREACH TO LANDOWNERS IN WAYSIDE AND LINDSIDE.
James Webb is locating cemeteries.
BETH WILL CALL MVP TO ATTEMPT TO GET CONTACTED OWNERS’ INFO.
8) Laurie: environmental impact studies:
LAURIE WILL CHECK TO SEE IF DOWNSTREAM STRATEGIES HAVE ANY ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STUDIES.
NANCY WILL CHECK WITH JUDY AZULAY.
JOE WILL CHECK WITH BOB ZACKER
?( who was checking to see if the Red Sulphur PSD has records for springs, cemeteries?)
Roseanna suggested using Comprehensive Plan for headings for EIS.
ROSEANNA WILL CONTINUE TO TRY TO LOCATE WELL HEAD PROTECTION MAPS FOR RED SULPHUR PSD.
9) Wanda is encountering many propipeline folks while doing home visits for work. NANCY WILL SEND WANDA ELECTRONIC FILES FOR PERTINENT OUTREACH INFO.
